SoFine gets my favorite product vote! I don't think it gets any better than this. How many feet is $100 worth of SoFine?
ReplyDeleteI love Bottom Line thread - have used it for just my bobbin thread as well as top and bottom for machine quilting. Like the fine look of it on the miniature quilts I make.
ReplyDeleteRead each newsletter as there is always some very good information about tension, what products work best for what applications and tips like the one this time suggesting placing the spool on the vertical spool pin. The newsletters tell about new products and some sale items each time too.
Happy Happy Birthday Bob!
ReplyDeleteI love the King Tut machine quilting thread...
but would love the opportunity to try your other threads...
and be able to attend the School of Threadology!
yes I have signed up for your newsletter and subscribed to your blog
thanks
Kathie
Happy Birthday, Bob! I aspire to attend School of Threadology! I loved all the eye candy on those posts, and I could certainly use the motivation. I already get your newsletter, which is how I learned about the new blog. You are witty, which makes for great reading. I have learned a lot about tension in the newsletters. I also enjoy the jokes by Mother Superior. I've used Bottom Line and love it!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love King Tut, the quality and colours far surpass any other thread I've used. I look forward to the newsletters and all the educational information. And, most importantly - Happy Birthday, Bob ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is a test comment.
ReplyDeleteIf you had trouble leaving a comment before, please try again. Blogger is having a problem with their word verification program. We have temporarily disabled word verification. Thanks
ReplyDeleteWow, how long have you got for me to be able to say which is my favourite Superior thread. I love King Tut and Rainbows for machine quilting and piecing is a breeze with Masterpiece. I think though maybe it is that wonderful work horse The Bottom Line. I just leave it in there, keep changing the top threads and away it goes without complaint.
ReplyDeleteI like the blog and your newsletter and read them faithfully. My favorite product at the moment is dissolve for FSL embroidery. Also the heavier quilting threads - 12 & 19 wts.
ReplyDeleteBev
Please put down 3 votes for me.. I already receive the newsletter and read each one. I've got your link on my blog and mentioned it there.
ReplyDeleteI here is my comment about my favorite product. It's the Rainbow thread. I love the 40wt and the colors! Also just an added note. Since you reveal the winner on March 3rd..my birthday is March 4th and this would be a wonderful birthday present!!1
I haven't tried any of your products yet, but am looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried any of your products yet, but they all come very highly recommended. I am definitely looking forward to trying them. I just subscribed to your newsletter, too, and I put a link up in a blog post over on my blog, too. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Bob. I read each newsletter as soon as I receive it. Love Bottom Line for needleturn applique, Masterpiece for piecing and King Tut for quilting. I've posted a link to your giveaway on my blog.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bob! I love the King Tut thread....the colors are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bob.
ReplyDeleteDH bought some Super Bobs at Christmas. I have just finished quilting a brushed cotton queen size quilt with them, and with King Tut thread on the top and I had no tension problems and no thread breakages. I have been using King Tut for a while, but combined with the Super Bobs, it's a real winning combination for me. Love them both.
I also read the newsletter from start to finish as soon as it lands in my inbox, which is how I heard about your blog.
I think that gives me 2 chances?

I haven't used King Tut but have heard all good about it. Perhaps this week in Mid Atlantic I will find a gorgeous color to try!

I think this gives me two chances. Thanks for offering the giveaway!
Happy Birthday Bob! I recently signed up for the newsletter and my favorite product is the prewound bobbins. I have all the neutrals but need to splurge and order a sampler pack, Nedra had one to die for...how lucky we are to live in St. George, home of Superior Threads!

Rainbow and Halo are just lovely.
Happy birthday, Bob ! Thank you for such a gift !
ReplyDeleteI signed for your newsletter and posted a link to my blog. And my favorite thread is Vanish. I also tried Mettalic, King Tut and Bottom line, and I loved them all ! I live in Romania so I can't order threads too often. It's funny that when I am at the last spool, I don't sew with it, I keep it and look at it !
Sunburst Color Changing Thread! Wow, that sounds like oodles of fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to enter.
http://www.diapertheirfaces.com/
Happy Birthday, Bob! I signed up for your newsletter and my favroite thread is the Rainbow.
ReplyDeleteA girl never has enough thread. Thanks for the chance to win the gift certificate.
I love King Tut and I do receive your newsletter.
ReplyDeletethanks for the chance to celebrate your birthday with you
Happy Birthday Bob! I guess I get 2 entries as I don't have a website/blog. I already take and READ the newsletter. Thats how I found out about the School of Threadology which was fantastic by the way. And, I have told everyone I know to sign up for the newsletter including my applique classmates. My favorite product, well, thats hard because I love them all. However, I do love Masterpiece Thread for piecing and the great bobbins you sell. My Bernina just hums along using them. Best yet, there is more thread on your bobbins than a regular bobbin.
ReplyDeleteH.B. Bob. I just had mine and survived it. Okay - I had a little obsessed with Rainbows. Love them and machine quilt with them on all my quilts.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Bob. I look forward to your newsleter every month. There is always so much information in it. (& I always like your joke). As for your products, right now my current favorite is Masterpiece thread. I use it for everythink I am piecing and even used it for a camo heart for my husbancd. But, that said, I love all your products I have purchased.
ReplyDeleteNo blog, so that is 2 votes for me.
Paule-Marie (zzquilt@aol.com)

Happy birthday Bob! Just found your blog. I will add it to my reader. I actually wanted to post a comment on your Thread school post and the system wouldn't allow me! Strange... I sure hope this seminar comer my way! I've attending the Ricky Tims in Glen Fall, which included an hour with Bob. This sounds so much more intense. Anyway, glad to have found you and Happy Birtday to Bob! Here's to many more!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bob!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is masterpiece,i love to piece with it. I'm already signed up for the newsletter which i really enjoy, but i don't have a blog.
Hum... I think I may qualify for this birthday post.
ReplyDelete1)I posted a review on my blog Aug 13, 2007 under the thread label heading "my thread of thoughs" and made a link to your website. I don't know that you had a blog back then! If I mention your thread, I always link back to your site! Now I can link to your blog! lol
2) I have been reading the newsletter since I first signed up. It's been so long that I forgot how many years! lol
3) I'm in love with Masterpiece thread! We've been together for close to 3 years now. lol I piece with it and I also use it in the bobbin for my longarm, Penelope, which I've had less than a year. I've also fallen in love with King Tut. I'm a natural fibre gal! lol
Thanks for doing this. So glad I found you!
Posted about your giveaway on my blog ( http://scottieacres.blogspot.com ) and read the newsletter. I like the Masterpiece threads. Wouls love a gift certificate so I can try playing with some of the other threads you have. The fusible threads intrigue me.
ReplyDeleteLets see if my comment works today. I tried yesterday multiple times. Happy Birthday Bob. Love the thread. Can't wait to use the fusible thread. I'd LOVE to win.
ReplyDeleteMother Superior's blog is linked to mine (cristynmerry.wordpress.com). I read the newsletter without fail. My favorite Superior Product...do I have to choose? I love King Tut for it's durability, lack of lint, and awesome color combinations. I love MasterPiece for excellent piecing and bobbin for King Tut. I love the metallic for how nicely it stitches in my Gammill, without breaking. LAVA is my new favorite shiny thread - strong, shiny, and in many colors.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!
ReplyDeleteFor me, it's King Tut. Long live the King! The colors, the way my machine seems to love it.... the way it MAKES the project! I love it!
KZ
It's so hard to pick a favorite, but I think it has to be King Tut and Lava. I love the variegated threads and these two are very durable.
ReplyDeleteI have a link to your blog on my blog and I read every newsletter.
I just signed up for your newsletter!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Superior Thread are the variegated threads.
I commented about your give a way on my blog.
Can't wait to read your newsletters!
I get your newsletter and love it. I love glitter, especially the color coral, it leaves a soft hint of reflection on my work.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bob! I love the jokes in the newsletter. My favorite thread is Masterpiece. It works great and I posted it on my blog.
ReplyDeletepaweis@yahoo.com
Happy Birthday Bob! I love using King Tut thread. Please enter my name 3 times.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bob, I guess you are not getting older, just better.
ReplyDeleteI have been using the Masterpiece thread for my piecing. I love how it melts into my fabrics. Then I did some quilting with the metallic threads and it was alos a treat. Superior Threads are really Superior. I look forward to your newsletter each month for the hints, and the joke!! Thanks again,
Happy Birthday Bob! I have recently read your blog and have now subscribed to it. I also have signed up for your newsletter. I did put a birthday notice for you in my blog.
ReplyDeleteHi, just want to let you know that I posted a note of your giveaway on my blog.

Thank you and Happy Birthday again!
Happy Birthday Bob!! Thanks for the chance to win a gift certificate. I learned about this on my friend mamasparks blog. I am just learning about blogs and can't stay away from them. I love your King Tut. I just used the verigated on a baby quilt it is beautiful. I like your newsletter and will be signing up for it. Thanks, Anne
ReplyDeletegarrysgirl@sbcglobal.net
I have read your latest newsletter and have told 2 friends about it too. It is great to have someone from a company to take so much interest in educating their customers. I sure appreciate it. Wanda
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Bob! Happy Birthday and thank you for sharing with all of us.
ReplyDeleteI posted about your blog and giveaway on my blog, http://crossroadsquilts.wordpress.com/ , I also have links for Superior Thread in my shopping links, a link for this blog in my blog links, and I already get your newsletter (love the info and humor in them!).
Favorite thread from Superior...Do I have to choose just one? I use Masterpiece for all my piecing and love LAVA, King Tut, and Sew Fine in my longarm. I really love LAVA right now - that has been used on about my last six quilts or so and give beautiful results!
So I guess that means put in three votes for me! Thanks again, Bob!
Happy Birthday Bob,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the King Tut color card with my thread order this week.
I really enjoy the newsletter and the tips and ideas from you and your readers. I think it is great that you give them gift certificates for their ideas and comments.
My favorite thread so far is Masterpiece. When I first tried it I couldn't believe it. It is not as thick as my previous brand {Mettler}, which I do not use anymore and my seams when I piece lay so nice and flat. No bulk.
I have the Superior Thread link on my blog and will make a comment about it. So, I guess that makes me 3?
I have used your thread and partcularly like the color charts that I purchased. I really like the so fine thread although I also like King Tut. I also use the prewound bobbins. So many choices!!! I will sign up for the newsletter but do not have a blog.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bob!
I love Rainbows thread on my HQ16. Happy birthday to Bob and thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI'll stick my fave King Tut for my quilting. And I've been signed up to your newsletter for years now.
ReplyDeleteHappy Bday, Bob, from a fellow Aquarian.
I have bragged about your website and new blog on my blog http://luannkessi.blogspot.com/ . I enjoy reading your informative newsletter every month. It is always full of thread education, just like your website. I have learned so very much from you over the years. When I have a quilt basted and ready for machine quilting, I always reach for your Bottom Line thread. It is my first choice for my free-motion thread work on my quilts. I also love the Master Piece thread for piecing, it leaves a fine seam with no bulk when I am doing patchwork. My quiltmaking has definitely improved since reading your newsletters and using your many lines of wonderful thread. I thank you for all you do for quilters. Keep up the Great work!
ReplyDeleteLuAnn in Oregon
Where do I start?! I love King Tut thread! The colors are fabulous and I have never quilted a quilt that didn't look great when using this thread. I use Sew Fine when I don't want to use a variegated thread. AND I cannot imagine going back to winding my own bobbins! I use SuperBobs exclusively!
ReplyDeleteI subscribe now to the newsletter (haven't gotten one yet!) and I have a link on my blog: http://reluctantquilter.blogspot.com
3 votes for me. I love the Lava colors!
ReplyDeleteI read all of your newsletters. My favorite thread is So Fine. If I won, I would buy lots more of it.
ReplyDeleteThats 2 entries for me.
Gayle
Happy Birthday Bob...
ReplyDeleteI read the newsletter faithfully, and share all the jokes with MY husband, Bob!
: )
Happy Birthday Bob! I'm a huge fan of your thread and have subscribed to your newsletter. I read every word!
ReplyDeleteLove Bottom Line. I don't have to wind my bobbin nearly as much with Bottom Line.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have a link on my blog www.crowseye-fiber.blogspot.com, have been checking the newsletter regularly (though just signed up to get it by email a few days ago) and currently Nature Colors is edging out Bottom Line as my favorite. I'm making the 7 hour (one way!) trip to Hampton just to stock up on thread at the Mid-Atlantic Festival this weekend. Of course, I'll check out the quilts, too....
Happy Birthday Bob,
ReplyDeleteI was able to attend a breakfast lecture with you in MQX last year and I found it so informative and so useful.
My favourite is So fine for the top and Botton Line for the bobbin although I use BL on top quite often. I only wish you had more variety for Bottom Line.
Best wishes
It would be easy to say thread is thread as has been my opinion in the past. Mother didn't say much about thread since she was always on a tight budget she bought what was cheapest and easiest to purchase. I had been introduced to Sulky threads, but I, too, have been on a pretty tight budget. Since joining TQS, I have become acquainted with Mr. Tut, Masterpiece and Bottom Line all of which I adore. Cost is still a factor in purchasing. I read the newsletter when it comes and use as much of the information as I can. I enjoy the blog and find it an easier venue than the newsletter. I've mentioned your company on my TQS blog. Thank you for the hominess of your blog.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Bob! What's another year, just another glorious day of FUN! The sample of thread I received when I got my new machine, made me a believer! I love to quilt with the So Fine, and I use it for the bobbin, too! I just love it, and no lint to sneeze over! The blog is so informative, and I also receive your newsletter! My grandson's birthday is March 1, my daughter's birthday is March 2, and my birthday is March 3! My daughter-in-law is due at anytime, and I told her to tell the doctor to make it March 4, because we are in CELEBRATION mode! Hope you have a great day, and keep up all the news-worthy info! Meg
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bob!
ReplyDeleteI love all the superior threads products I've tried so far, king tut,so fine and metallic are favorites with my long arm machine. I just started using masterpiece for my machine piecing and I recommend the thread stand for trouble free sewing. I just recently bought some of the sunburst but I haven't worked with it yet, but I'm expecting to be pleased when I finish that project.
I'm already a newsletter subscriber, and love checking in on your blog!
Wow, hopefully this will go through. Been trying for days. Happy Birthday Bob! My favorite thread has to be masterpiece. I just love how it helps to make my piecing more accurate. I'm also using King Tut for the 1st time and everything is going well there also! Sure could use a certificate to get some more thread. Here's hoping!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bob!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thread is Masterpiece. I love all that you are so responsive to what people write to you and change things for the better (and give a $30 reward). Sorry to hear about the sl. price increase=great idea to give a free thread sample card this month.
What a great blog!... waving Heather and Bob!!

I just found your site and can't wait to check it out thoroughly! I have sewn for over 40 years and never stop learning!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bob. I'm already on your Newsletter mailing list. My favourite Superior thread at the moment is Lava - I love the gorgeous colours in comes in and am looking forward to visiting your booth at MQX.
ReplyDeleteKing Tut or Bottom Line, Hmmm. It really is a hard choice because both are wonderful! Hope your birthday was wonderful Bob. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteLove Rainbows along with Bottom Line.
ReplyDeleteLibby Lehman turned me on to you before Bottom Line premiered--when our choices were black or white bobbin thread.
I love reading the newsletter and reading the Education on the web site. I am a "Superior" snob. It is my first thread choice for all parts of quilting.
Happy Birthday Bob!
ReplyDeleteI have a link to your Blog on my Blog, I suscribe to your newsletter, and I love the Bottom Line thread - especially in the pre-wound bobbins. I think that equals 3 votes!
Love Rainbows thread as well as King Tut! Well, I also like the Masterpiece, and ... all of it! Happy Birthday Bob!
ReplyDeleteHB Bob...I love all the threads. I didn't know you had this blog though.....
ReplyDeleteI just subscribed to your newsletter and already learned some new and interesting things....
I would love to win your prize as i could use some new thread, I'm running out :)
Peggy in NJ
Happy Birthday, Bob! By commenting here, I should have 3 votes. I absolutely love every product of yours I have tried. I also have to say that your customer service is outstanding. I love seeing you and Mother Superior on TQS!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Bob! I am on my way to read your newsletter and to sign up to get more. My fav Superior thread right now is bottom line. I use it for hand applique and it disappears into the fabric. Awesome. I would love to try more Superior thread products in the future because all I ever hear about them is rave reviews!
ReplyDeleteAbout a year ago I started using Masterpiece for machine piecing. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI already subscribe to your newsletter. Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday, Bob! I just found your blog through Pat Sloan, and signed up for your newsletter. I've heard so many other quilters rave about your site and your threads, I just had to check it out! Thanks for the lesson on pre-wound bobbins. that cleared up some confusion for me. I'm so glad I found your site, because I love beautiful thread as much as fabric!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Bob. Another year is agreeing with you.:-) I am glad I found you blog. I have been getting your newsletter for several years now and always enjoy reading it. Take care and God bless, Cory
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Bob!!
ReplyDeleteUgh I have to pick a favorite of your threads?!
I absolutely love King Tut, the colours are fantastic and it never breaks on the longarm, unlike some other brands I wont mention =)
For micro quilting its bottom line for me, also use the prewounds, love those too.
Rainbows is beautiful, I have never had a problem with it in my machine, I love the sheen of it and the bright colours.
Actually just finished a quilt using Rainbows pics on my blog, and currently on the frame I'm using bottom line in top and bottom to freehand some heart feather wreaths.
Thanks for such great customer support and products!
Please put me in for 3 entries. I added your blog to my blog list and made a post about your give-away. I already belong to your newsletter list and am happy to add you to my blog list to get even more information. I guess I didn't realize you had a blog. As for my favourite thread...I love your King Tut. I have a Gammill and it works wonderful on it. I currently have over 30 cones but hope to have them all someday...the $100 would work to accomplish this. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY...Better shut the smoke detector off before you blow out the candles..just joking :0)
ReplyDeletequiltinthingsforyou.blogspot.com
I have only been machine quilting exclusively for about a year. I have not tried Superior thread yet, but have seen other quilters using the thread. I do like the way it can be a main theme of the quilt or blend into the background depending on choice of the many color options. Looking forward to learning more.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the superior thread yet, will look at my quilting store for it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bob! Please pick me!!!!
ReplyDeletePut down 3 votes for me I love bottom line thread .And your service is great .Happy Birthday .
ReplyDeleteI love King Tut, especially the variegated colors.
ReplyDeleteI love your high sheen nature color thread! just gorgeous! ...and i signed up for your newsletter!

I just finished my first free motion quilting project using "So Fine" for the first time. All I can say is,"Wow! I love it!" I was so worried about tension problems but the thread was wonderful and the quilting looks great! I will definitely be getting more in different colors.
www.quiltedpig.blogspot.com
The Sunburst Color Changing Thread is neat! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteJust received my huge order of the 'Try Me Special'. WOW!! Talk about being overwhelmed with colors and types. However, I must say I am now a very spoiled child with a huge pout. Why, because these are just the tip of the iceberg of spools and spools of thread. I WANT THEM ALL IN ALL THE COLORS.
ReplyDeleteI cherish each and every newsletter. Each is like finding a gold mine I didn't even know I was looking for. Thanks!
My favorite thread is King Tut. But mind you I have been unable to try all of them.
Now, my granddaughter says her favorite is the "magic sun thread" as she calls it.
Happy Birthday, Bob and thanks so very much for the Special.

ReplyDeleteI wrote about the giveaway on my blog. That's one. I always read the newsletter all the way through as soon as I get it. That's two. And, my favorite product is the prewound bobbins. Ever since I started buying them, that's what I use almost all the time! Mostly the Masterpiece. That's three for me.
Happy Birthday, Bob!
ReplyDeleteAs a long-time subscriber to your newsletter and also a follower of Mother Superior's Blog, I was interested in your thread sampler you talked about a few posts back. I ordered one and received it very quickly, and love to have the ability to try the different threads you carry. So far I'm loving them all.
Billie, Columbus IN
Happy Birthday Bob. I have read your newsletter and deemed it useful, so I subscribed. I have a spool of King Tut thread waiting to use for machine quilting. I am expecting to accumulate a variety of threads now that I have access to a long-arm quilting machine.
ReplyDeleteBottom line is my favorite thread to use in my bobbins. I have every color you make! It's awesome!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love your newsletter. When it shows up, I read asap.
The only one I have tried so far is the Mono Poly. I would like to try your other threads and will look at your special offers.
ReplyDeleteI also added you to my favorite blogs. So I would like to be added to your Birthday giveaway. Your name will be mentioned on my next post! Thanks for all the helpful info.

ReplyDeleteI signed up for the newsletter. My favorite thread is King Tut for machine quilting. I use Masterpiece and Bottom Line for piecing. I can really use the gift certificate to buy more thread! Thanks for great products. Cindy
